Yardsman pays homage to the great men who worked in the mills, the yards and factories. The men who were proud to serve apprenticeships and perfect their craft. The good men who valued people above possessions.
What we put in is what we get out. We take time to perfect our craft and every small batch brew in Belfast’s first craft brewery since 1855. This is where we create history, this is how we create Yardsman.

The bizarre humidity in Belfast’s Mills meant that deep water was a common occurrence, so many worked most happily in their bare feet. The Belfast Millies were tough, but they put their heart and ‘sole’ into every yarn.

Titanic Quarter Beer was specially commissioned to mark the regeneration of the Queen's Island site where the famous ship was built. It is a pale ale brewed with beers in mind that were once shipped from the UK around the world. This ale is clean and refreshing with a good level of bitterness.

This special reserve is named after the local train stop, which used to service the old Barbour linen mill behind Hilden House. At a robust strength of 6.1% ABV, Hilden Halt is our strongest ale so be careful not to get derailed.

Named after Barney Hughes, the Belfast master baker, the creator of the Belfast Bap and 19th Century philanthropist. This straw coloured beer is produced with malted barley, a predominately wheat grist, and spiced with cardamom, coriander and black pepper. This beer was initially produced to mark the 200th anniversary of Barney's birth.

A new classic with lots of aroma, bitterness and hop flavour. Twisted Hop is a strong premium pale ale, made with late 'Galaxy' hops from Australia, which pack a powerful punch. Then balanced with plenty of 'Brewer’s Gold' from Germany, this ale is all about the hops.

Headless Dog is a bright amber ale, smooth initially with a slight hint of the Munich malt coming through from the grist. This is complemented well by the stronger refreshing taste from this well hopped beer. Named after the unusual mural of a headless dog at the front door to the brewery.

Belfast Blonde is a wholly natural blonde beer with a clean and refreshing character, derived from the use of Lager Malt along with a small proportion of maize. The Mixture of continental and native varieties of late and early addition hops please both the nasal senses and the taste buds.

The brewery, which originally operated in Hercules Street in Belfast between 1845-1855 was widely believed to be the earliest brewery in the city, when there were 13 breweries in Belfast.
The re-borne Hercules Brewing Company uses some of the old traditions of brewing to create a small batch brew lager called Yardsman. The small batch brew is created with the best of local ingredients and filtered through Irish linen. Range includes Lager, Belfast Pale Ale and Indian Pale Ale.
