AVIATION AMERICAN GIN

Aviation gin has been created specifically with cocktails in mind.  

A pioneer of the 'New Western Dry' style of gin now gaining popularity, Aviation American Gin has a unique recipe, focussing on a 'Botanical Democracy' rather than the standard, dictatorial influence of juniper.  Therefore Aviation American Gin is a renegade, regional style of gin - completely different from all other gins on the market.  

Full-bodied, with a weighty mouth-feel and rich flavour profile, Aviation American Gin makes the perfect base for cocktails, including the Aviation cocktail first created in the early 1900's - the cocktail after which the gin is named.  

Created to change the way people think about gin, Aviation American Gin is made in the traditional dry style with anything but a traditional flavour profile.  A blend of juniper, cardamon, lavender, Indian sarsaparilla, corriander, anise seed, and dried sweet orange peel is macerated and distilled 100% corn grain neutral spirit (chosen for its full body and rich viscosity).

Tasting Notes:  

Nose: Earthy, spicy and intriguing with floral notes and pronounced cinnamon and nutmeg. 

Palate: Oily and mouth-coating, dry but with a sweetness akin to vanilla (probably from the sarsaparilla), a touch of orange and more winter spice. 

Finish: Cooling, with the influence of the cardamon and aniseed apparent and a menthol/eucalyptus characteristic. 

ABV: 42% 

Aviation Gin Suggested Serves:

With it's unique Botanical democracy, the flavour profile of Aviaiton Gin leads to an unusual Gin & Tonic.  Therefore, it's suggested to 'Fly in the face of tradition' and drink Aviation Gin in more interesting ways than the standard G&T. 

Aviation & Elderflower 

50ml Aviation 

150ml Elderflower Drink / Tonic 

Pour over cubed ice in a hi-ball glass and garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit. 

Aviation Cocktail 

45ml Aviation 

15ml Briottet Maraschino Liqueur

5ml Briottet Violette Liqueur 

15ml Fresh Lemon Juice 

Teaspoon of Sugar Syrup

Shake with cubed ice and then strain into a chilled coupe/martini glass and garnish with a cocktail cherry.
