THE TANNERY, MOIRA MAKES FUND-RAISING A PIECE OF STEAK!
The Tannery in Moira, Drinks Inc, Septima Wines and Peter Hannan – The Meat Merchant have teamed up to find the best steak eater in Ireland in a fun event to raise much-needed funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The steak eating challenge is the brainchild of well-known restaurateur and chef Derek Patterson, owner of The Tannery, which is rapidly building a reputation as one of the finest steak houses in Ireland. Derek teamed up with Drinks Inc, Septima Wines and Peter Hannan of the Meat Merchant at Glenarm Estate to run the challenge.
As organiser of the famous Hillsborough Oyster Festival, Derek has plenty of event experience and chose Septima Wines as a partner due to the success in his restaurant group of their recently-launched range of wines. Septima – one of Argentina’s most prestigious wineries – is proud to be supporting the event.
The winner of the Challenge grand final on Thursday November 24th will enjoy a weekend trip for two to Barcelona, including dinner and fine wines at Restaurante Argentina Vinya Rosa - Europe’s number one Argentinean steak house in Barcelona city centre – all courtesy of Septima Wines exclusively distributed in Northern Ireland by Drinks Inc.
The top quality produce from Glenarm Estate is now supplied to various high end restaurants throughout the province. So as well as having fun in the steak challenge, contestants got to eat some of the finest beef the province has to offer, cooked by the professional chefs at the Tannery and matched with a great Septima Malbec red wine – all while raising money to help others!
