Meet The Team - Daniel Connolly, Warehouse Stock and Admin
Introducing Dan, one of the rising talents within the Drinks Inc. AFT team.
After joining the business just over two years ago, Dan first made his mark in Telesales before moving into the warehouse, where he has spent the last six months growing his skills and deepening his understanding of our operations. Now working as a Stock Controller, Dan plays a key role in keeping our stock files accurate and ensuring customers receive the right products, all while working closely with our Warehouse, Reorder and Telesales teams. With a background that spans from his family dairy farm to completing his degree at Ulster University, Dan brings a fresh perspective, a strong work ethic, and genuine enthusiasm for the drinks industry, and he’s excited to continue learning, developing and contributing to the business.
How long have you worked for Drinks Inc. AFT?
I’ve worked at Drinks Inc. AFT for just over 2 years. I started in Telesales as a Telesales Operator, but for the last 6 months I have been part of the warehouse team.
I’ve really enjoyed being a part of the company and gaining the experience I have so far. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and grow within the business.
What does your role involve and who do you work closely with?
In my role as a Stock Controller, I work alongside the Warehouse team, Reorder, and Telesales to ensure customers receive the correct stock and that our stock files remain accurate.
I help manage credits alongside the Telesales Admin team, ensuring that items returned to the warehouse are correctly credited back to the customer. I also keep track of these credits to make the process as smooth as possible.
I am responsible, along with the Warehouse team, for weekly cycle counts and quarterly stock takes. This ensures we have the most accurate figures possible so Telesales and Reorder can manage stock efficiently.
How long have you worked in the drinks industry?
This is actually my first experience in the drinks industry. I joined Drinks Inc. AFT a month after finishing my degree at UUB. I’ve never worked in hospitality, as I previously worked at home on our family’s dairy farm in North Antrim until I started here.
Since joining Drinks Inc. AFT, I know I’ve made the right choice. I find the industry so interesting and dynamic, learning not just about selling drinks but also about the behind‑the‑scenes processes and how the business operates.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy playing hurling to keep fit or going for walks. I recently moved house, so I’ve been exploring what’s local to me.
On weekends, I usually play video games with friends or go for a drive to visit family. I also love trying new places for lunch or dinner, especially finding a great spot for a Sunday roast.
What is your favourite Drinks Inc. AFT product?
Drinks Inc. AFT has such a huge portfolio of products, but I’ll always choose cider when given the choice. My favourites are Orchard Thieves or Kopparberg. I have a sweet tooth, so ciders that aren’t too bitter are always a bonus for me!
