Meet The Team - Ryan Smith, Business Development Manager

We’re excited to introduce one of our newest team members, Ryan Smith who joined us a Business Development Manager in June of this year. With a wealth of experience in the drinks industry and a passion for building strong customer relationships, Ryan has been a great addition to the team. Let's get to know more about his journey and role at Drinks Inc.

How long have you worked for Drinks Inc.?

I’m relatively new to the Drinks Inc. team, having joined in June of this year. I have enjoyed the challenge so far and look forward to building a long and successful relationship ahead.

What does your role involve and who do you work closely with?

As a Business Development Manager, my role involves representing Drinks Inc. and its product portfolio within a defined region. I work closely with customers to understand their needs with the view of building strong, long-term relationships and growing good business.

Additionally, I collaborate daily with the broader Drinks Inc. team including my manager, fellow business development managers, the telesales team, as well as the warehouse, transport, and finance departments to ensure efficient operations and to provide our customers with the highest level of service possible.

How long have you worked in the drinks industry?

Before joining Drinks Inc. in the summer, I spent seven years at Richmond Marketing Ltd, where I gained valuable experience and insight into the drinks industry. After graduating from university in 2009, I worked as a Sales Development Representative. This role provided me with valuable account management experience in the FMCG sector. In 2017, I transitioned to the role of  Business Developer with Richmond Marketing Ltd, where I cultivated my passion for the drinks industry working with market-leading brands such as Red Bull, Kopparberg and Peroni.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to travel and explore new places, immersing myself in different cultures whenever I can. I also enjoy playing football, attending gym classes and spending quality time with friends &

family. I fit in the occasional round of golf when I have the opportunity.

What is your favourite Drinks Inc. product?

With more than 2,000 products to choose from, selecting just one could be a challenge. Personally, I enjoy a good bottle of red wine, so I’d likely pick from the many excellent options available. I also like the occasional gin & tonic, so I might consider a bottle of Irish Potato Craft Gin from The Muff Liquor Company.
